OutDoorOrchestra.com is focused on community and arts engagement through the restoration of symphony orchestra performances to the public via neighborhoods and communities. The long range vision is to decentralize the presentations of symphonic music at the professional level to present safely outdoors while creating ongoing projects for education and lifestyle enrichment through beginner and youth orchestra, and continuing education program initiatives and in so doing crate and sustain jobs for the symphonic instrumentalist specialists of greater Houston and beyond.
PEOPLE respond with extra gratitude these days. I know that it is from the same hunger we all feel to hear our beloved musical sounds in live performances again. Outdoor Orchestra gained over two hundred LIKES on Facebook in the first week announcements. I know we can do this!

The simple story is that I am just one professional musician deeply affected by the pandemic. The financial support from the symphonic freelance business stopped last year in mid-March.
My explorations with amplified violin this year have produced some promising leads for long term solutions to our shared arts shortage.
In just ten days from original idea to first public performance the OutdoorOrchestra.com produced a performance of Vivaldi's "Four Seasons". That was organized and took place during our challenging times and during the holiday music rush is a miracle in itself! Twelve professional musicians performing during the year's busiest week for little pay. Oh, and by the way they needed to bring electric instruments and amplifiers for a completely new experience in "symphonic-garage-band".
